SOLD! - 1966 Gibson ES-335 Tobacco Burst

€ 6.995,00Prijs

This ES-335 was purchased on New Years Eve, 31 december 1999 from David Hollestelle, the guitar player at "Herman Brood and his Wild Romance".

It was purchased in the 1980's for David by the manager of the band, Koos van Dijk, in Germany while on tour. The seller was an American US Army soldier who was stationed in Germany at the time. The US soldier removed the soundhole sticker as he thought this would prevent him from paying import customs duties when bringing the guitar abroad from the US into Germany.

When bought in 1999 the new owner, Richard, changed the trapezium tailpiece to a '60's Guild Bigsby which has the perfect setup for the string angle of the 335. This Bigsby really adds a lot to the sound!

The guitar is all original except for the added Bigsby (original trapeze tailpiece in the case), saddles and a refret. The pots, pickups (2 very cool Patent No. Sticker Humbuckers), knobs, ABR-1 bridge, tuners, plastics etc are all original. The guitar has no cracks or breaks. The finish is also all original with no refin or overspray and a small touchup on the upper left horn, some playwear and checking on the body, neck and headstock. Comes in an 80's Gibson ES-335 brown hardshell case with purple plush lining.
