SOLD! - 1965 Gibson Firebird V Non Reverse Cherry Red

This is an incredibly rare near mint collector grade 1965 Firebird V in Cherry Red that was personally picked up at the Gibson factory in Michigan by the original owner in 1965! 
 
It includes a letter from the original owner that states that his parents bought him a Gibson Firebird guitar in 1964 but that one of the wings of the body delaminated from the guitar. Since they lived only about an hour's drive from the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, his mom drove him to the factory to see if Gibson would repair the guitar. Apparently the factory was unable to repair the guitar so they brought out a brand new Gibson Firebird V to replace the old one. It happened to be one of maybe only 2 or 3 finished in Cherry Red, which was not even a catalog option for the 1965 non reverse Firebird guitars at that time!!
 
This Firebird is 100% original (no breaks, cracks, or repairs) and is in excellent condition as you can see. 
 
It comes with the original rectangular Gibson case, leather strap, coil cord, hang tags, warranty card, paperwork and mentioned letter signed by the original owner!
