SOLD! - 2019 Marshall 1973X HW Handwired 18WATT 2x12 Combo Tremolo
Dont have this mistaken with the pretty common Marshall 1974x...
This is the ballsier, louder, bigger and way better sounding model 1973X !!
The handwired 18WATT combo's are pretty accurate reissues of the revered Marshall 18-WATT dual-channel all-valve combo, produced between 1966 and 1968. This is the 2x12" version of the bunch. The one you want.
Just like the original the 1973X it is is hand soldered, with valve-driven Tremolo, and no negative feedback in its cathode-biased EL84-driven output stage. Its two-channel design is straightforward and effective – just Volume and Tone controls on channel one, and Volume, Tone, Speed and Sensitivity on the Tremolo channel.
Because of its lower Wattage it is an extremely versatile amp you can use at home, in the studio or in live performances and gigs! The 18WATTs are just perfect and the lowe wattage means that the 1973X produces harmonically rich and responsive, vintage Marshall tone at volumes that won’t ripp your eardrums. That said, at full whack it still packs quite a punch...
The T1221/67 Greenback speakers used in the original 1973 combo would mature over time, their sound softening with age. The special 12″ Celestion G12M-20 Greenbacks in the 1973X have been ‘aged’ to get as close as possible to that vintage, ’60s mojo.
