All items were purchased from the Gary Moore Collection in 2 different auctions and were used by Gary Moore on tour and in the studio in the 90’s, 00’s and beyond. Marshall amps were an integral part of Gary’s setup and this setup was used live and in the studio.
The “BBM” stencilled flightcase was used on the famous “BBM” Tour!! “BBM” stands for Baker Bruce Moore and is the name of the short-lived power trio formed in 1993 by Gary Moore, bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker. Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton formed the legendary group “Cream” in the mid-late 60’s, the world’s first Rock Supergroup and it is so cool that it has this connection!
This case was also photographed for the Bonhams auction catalogue, together with Gary moore's famous 1959 Gibson Les Paul!!! (see pictures 2 and 3)
These items were purchased directly at the Bonhams 1793 Ltd Auction “The Gary Moore Collection: The Final Encore” on November 20, 2025 and at Gardiner Houlgate: “The Gary Moore Collection” on 7 September 2022, which were both held in collaboration with The Gary Moore Estate, together with key auction partners including Guitarist Magazine and Gibson. E-mails, pictures, auction information and invoices are part of the provenance and included in the package.
All is in perfect working condition and can be used straight out of the box. When dialed, your neighbors will think an airplane just hit their rooftop and landed in the bedroom. It is loud... I mean: LOUD!!!!
So plug it in, warn the rest of the village and turn it up to 11!
Born in Belfast in 1952, Gary Moore rose to fame with his million selling 1990 album Still Got The Blues and the 1978 hit single Parisienne Walkways which features vocals from Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott, who co-wrote the song with Moore. Alongside his successful solo career, he played guitar with the legendary rock band Thin Lizzy and was also a member of the jazz fusion group Colosseum II and the original Skid Row line-up.
The auctions celebrated Gary Moore's legacy, marking the last of a series of sales of Moore's collection to take place at Gardiner Houlgate and Bonhams together with key auction partners including The Gary Moore Estate, Guitarist Magazine and Gibson. The Gary Moore Collection included guitars, amps, studio equipment, stage-worn clothing, accessories and even some of Gary's legendary guitars. The sale was led by a Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar from 1960, one of Gary's longest-serving instruments and probably the second most associated with him, used both in the studio and in live performance. Available via Private Sale was Gary Moore's 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar also known as 'Stripe' and became Gary's most recorded guitar, famously used on Still Got The Blues, After The War, Oh Pretty Woman, Walking By Myself, and more.
This is as close as you can get to your hero, owning and playing ons of his personal amps!
