SOLD! - 2023 Van Laeck Napoleon Reverb Combo - Suede Limited Edition
The Van Laeck Napolean Reverb is a blend of different stages in guitar amplifier history but te basic schematic of the amp roots in the 50’s as, quite frankly, it doesn’t get much better than that.
The ingredients are: 2 x 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes, 2 x 6V6 power tubes, a 5AR4/GZ34 Tube Rectifier, Cathode Bias, Paraphrase Inverter, no negative feedback, 1 Volume, 1 Tone and a Reverb.
What makes this amp stand out from the masses though is it’s unique transformer-less reverb. Many of the greats in amplifier history like Ampeg and Magnatone have used this concept but it never made it to the masses. We believe that that is not really justified. An almost plate like reverb that feels awesome ‘under the fingers’ and delivers a lo-fi, vintage character that is quite unique.
The EQ switch selects an American Fender-ish voicing or a Britisch Marshall style voicing. The first emphasizes the low-mids where the latter puts more focus on the high mids. Especially in overdrive this produces a distinctly different voice.
The Napolean Reverb comes with a lifelong warranty on manufacturing defects.
