SOLD! - 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul SG Custom 1961 60th Ann. Polaris White

This is a stunning 60th Anniversary Reissue of the first "SG" when it was still called a "Les Paul".

1961 Brought some big changes to the Gibson Les Paul; most notably a sleek, all-new, double-cutaway, all-mahogany body design that would later be renamed the SG.

This Gibson Custom Shop model recreates the first Les Paul SG Customs, complete with Custom style cosmetics, gold hardware and a Sideways Vibrola: a side-pull action vibrato that is similar to those found on models from the early 1960's.

It also has a bound authentic '61 mahogany neck, gold kidney Grover tuners, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, 3 Custombucker pickups, 500K CTS vintage taper pots and Black Beauty capacitors, all handwired and soldered.

The beautiful Polaris White nitrocellulose finish has had the VOS treatment and was slightly aged afterwards to get that real vintage yellow patina with shade marks on the front and back. The neck is a slim 60's taper bound neck but it doesn't feel slim at all, it's a nice handful. The fretboard is ebony with custom block mother of pearl inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets and a Hide Glue fit Long Tenon neck joint construction. The truss rod is an authentic 50's no tube.

Comes including the original Gibson 1960's style Black pebble case with yellow plush lining, COA certificate of authenticity, hangtags, case candy and the original Gibson shipping box in which the guitar was sent straight from the Gibson Factory!
