2004 RebelRelic No.1 1955 Telecaster T-series Surf Green Aged

€0.00Price

This is the very first official RebelRelic Guitar ever made, serial 0001 - The one that started it all...

I have been a regular with Luke from RebelRelic for almost 2 decades now and ever since the first time I came to visit Luke and his team of friends at the RebelRelic Shop, this guitar was right there, on display next to the counter with a "NOT FOR SALE" tag on it. It featured in several RebelRelic Shop logo's, posters and pictures and to me, this guitar is the epitome of RebelRelic. It has Luke's "Love, Harmony & Rhythm" all over.

This guitar - the RebelRelic No.1 1955 Telecaster T-series Surf Green - is the very first guitar Luke build back in approx. 2004 after seeing a stunning 1955 Telecaster model just like this one, made by Bill Nash from Nash Guitars. Luke was blown away by the color, the vibe and the feel of the guitar as it fitted him like an old pair of jeans.

As an artist and professional woodworker, Luke decided to built himself a couple of guitars just like that, had Jean Pierre made and wire a special set of pickups for it and when it was finished, he put it on eBay to see what would happen.

When posted, an American guitarist and entrepreneur was very interested and bought this very guitar. He then told Luke he wanted to support Luke in starting a business building and selling vintage replica guitars and so he told Luke to keep the guitar for now, think of a name for the company and start building some cool guitars. Unfortunately due to a devastating illness the American buyer never got to play the guitar and never got to see Luke's incredible success with RebelRelic...

Now, 20 years later, RebelRelic has produced about 2000 guitars that sold all over the world to guitarists, collectors and professionals like Billy F. Gibbons from ZZ Top! Gibbons even met Luke and hand signed and pinstriped one of his Telecaster models!

And then, out of nowhere: The swan song. On June 6th 2026 RebelRelic announced to build their final 100 guitars. Once they're built, it's over. It is the closing chapter of an incredible story. And after that, there is only Luke's legacy.

And every single day when I or my customers walk into my shop @ Bees In A Jar, there she will be. Right there on the wall. On display. Just as she was for decades before at RebelRelic. The No.1. The one that started RebelRelic...
