SOLD! - 2001 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Classic 1960 Reissue Bullion Gold
As the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, we feel that it is time to cheer you up with our BIAJ Autumn Sale 2023 !! 🐝 🐝 🐝
Between 2001 and 2005 a new Golder Era began for Gibson and the guitars they produced were of the highest produced quality at the time! This Classic is a perfect example of such a guitar.
If you check out online you will find that the Classics are pretty well regarded all around. The fact was that in many ways, the Classic was more of an accurate reissue than the '59 Les Paul models of the early 1990's which still had a wide headstock, bright fingerboard and inlays, and wrong tuner bushings...
The 1960 Classic is basically a Les Paul with a slim-taper neck, nickel hardware, an ABR-1 bridge rather than a Nashville, press-fit bushings on keystone tuners instead of bolt bushings, pointy inlay instead of rounded and "1960" etched on the pickguard (for some strange reason). Most of them will be heavy though... Very heavy... This one however weighs a nice 4.1Kg which is pretty lightweight considering!
This guitar is all original incl the uncovered double black humbucker pickups, wire, electronics, Gibson embossed POT's with untouched solder, plastics, truss rod cover with "Classic", pickguard marked "1960". The beautiful Bullion Gold finish really glows and it has hardly any wear or marks, just 1 ding on the top. The back, neck and headstock are near collector grade as if it left the factory last week. The serial number uses a ‘reissue’ ink-stamp format starting wit a "0". No cracks or breaks. Comes with the original Gibson TKL Les Paul Brown OHSC Hardshell Case with purple plush lining and shroud, original Gibson USA Pre-packlist with serial number and the combination lock hangtag.
This is a great Goldtop for a very good price!
