SOLD! - 2000's Gibson Les Paul 1959 Junior TV Yelow "Limed Oak" Double Cut

€ 4.995,00Prijs

This 3.09Kg Rock Machine is a bit of an enigma (or not...) as it was sold quite a few times as an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior in Limed Oak TV Yellow. We however think that it is a 2000's reissue, played to the bone and aged to perfection.

It has a real 50's P90 cover with a couple of screwholes in it, vintage Kuson strip tuners, a 50's trussrod cover and screws, 50's tortoise pickguard, vintage studs and tailpiece but not 50's, Montreux top hat knobs and 1964 Gibson SG Junior wiring and pots and a 1959 bumblebee capacitor! The P90 pickup is a professional aftermarket pickup that sounds just like the old ones. It has a solid double cutaway mahogany body with rounded edges, one-piece mahogany neck with that great '59 style profile and rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. The finish has aged really nice and looks ever so real. On the sides and cutouts you can see a very cool mahogany bleed pouring out the pores into the yellow finish, just as you can find on some of the old ones. The headstock has the "Gibson" logo silk-screened in gold and the serial number 9 0924 inked-on in black on the back of the headstock.

This really is a tone monster and needs to be heard to be believed! Very resonant and melodic when played unplugged. I really can understand why this was sold as an original in the past, even though it has a few tell tales that make this a recent Junior and not a 50's.

The Gibson Les Paul Junior TV Model was the favorite choice of many great guitarists like Keith Richards, Rich Robinson, Billie Joe Armstrong, Johnny Depp etc and you can own this for less then a Murphy Lab Aged example that doesnt even look or sound as close as this one does to the originals. Comes in a recent brown Les Paul case with pink plush lining.
