Very cool 3.5Kg Gibson Custom Shop Firebird III Non Reverse, finished in TV White nitro and with 3 x P90 pickups: a super rare combination!

Just before the launch of the model, Gibson Custom Shop’s ‘Historic Line’ manager Edwin Wilson explained that TV White was a new century variation on the near legendary TV Yellow. “It is a variation on the original limed TV finish, which was much paler than the TV Yellow we're all familiar with...”

And the Custom Shop held nothing back with these Birds: vintage-correct long neck tenon, for better neck-to-body tone transfer; all gold hardware, including Grover mini-tuners with kidney bean tuner buttons, stopbar tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge; 4-ply pickguard (black-white-black-white) with etched Firebird logo in red; and a 22-fret, 24¾” scale neck. The neck features a flat-C 60's profile, which is sheer delight to move around on. Not too thin, not too fat.

The Bird for sale is all original and comes with the original Gibson rectangular hardshell case with dark red plush lining, some paperwork and the original COA Certificate Of Authenticity. The condition is very good with a few minor blemished and some discoloration from a guitar stand and a clip on tuner on the headstock. The action is nice and low and the Bird plays super easy up and down the neck. Perfect intonation and an amazing array of sounds come from the P90’s from warm and lush to aggressive and punchy. The bridge pickup stings like an angry bee! The 3 P90's belch out that unmistakable Johnny Winter blues tone, while cutting crystal clear Clapton-in-Cream lead notes like few other axes out there. Put this guitar out in front of your band and blow the paint of the walls!!
