SOLD! - 1991 Gibson Les Paul Custom '57 Pre-Historic Reissue

€ 3.750,00Prijs

Just back from a fresh setup at our guitar tech! Frets levelled and dressed, electronics rewired to original 50's wiring, bumblebees installed etc.

Rare Pre-Historic '57 Reissue built in 1991. Comes including the original brown Gibson case with purple lining- and shroud and the paperwork (which 9 out of 10 times is long gone...!) These models were released just short of two years before the official Historic range was produced by the Gibson Custom Shop, and as such they are often know as the "Pre-Historic" models.

With 4.2Kgs this beast is not too heavy for an early 90's Custom either but it plays and sounds massive! You can tell it has been played a lot as the guitar has a lot of dings, dongs, marks and pretty heavy weather checking all over. The back of the neck has lost some finish and all in all I think it looks better then a Custom Shop Aged guitar!

Late 1950's Gibson Les Paul guitars are often seen as the pinnacle of solid body electric guitar manufacturing, and these early '90's reissues are pretty damn close to the vintage tone and build quality of the originals.

This fantastic 1991 Gibson '57 Reissue Les Paul Custom is based on an earlier spec '57 Les Paul Custom, before the model changed to three PAF pickups as opposed to two. This guitar features a Mahogany body and neck along with an Ebony fingerboard and the typical custom style block inlays and split diamond peghead logo. The Grover tuners and hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model at the time, and it is fitted with a set of Classic '57 humbucker pickups.
