Hyper rare very early 1st series Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman in Walnut Brown with a nice flame maple neck and red-on-white side dots on the fretboard - you'll not find another one for sale like this!

Some three decades after Nashville superstar Chet Atkins debuted his original Country Gentleman model from the Gretsch company, he approached Gibson with some design refinements for a new version of the legendary model. The new instrument would be shallower in depth to make it easier to hold, have wider spaced pickups to facilitate fingerstyle play, and have a lighter weight body block to add sustain and curb feedback. A handily placed master volume knob, classic Bigsby, and generous 1 3/4" neck all ensured that the player had everything right at the fingertips. The result was the Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman.

This particular guitar is a real stunner, 100% original and in incredible collector grade condition. It has a beautiful Walnut finish to the pickups, pots, electronics, hardware, Bigsby, plastics etc, medium profile FLAME maple neck with ebony fingerboard and red-on-white block fret markers, a semi hollow maple body with single rounded cutaway, multi-bound top & back and a gold Bigsby tremolo. On the lower bout is a master volume and it has two tone controls with two individual pickup volume controls. There is hardly any playwear other then the light marks of a well loved and cherished instrument.

It comes including the original Gibson Brown OHSC Hardshell Case with purple plush lining and plush shroud, made in Canada.
