The 1980 Gibson Les Paul S.M. was part of a very limited Designer Series made in 1980. S.M. stands for Solid Mahogany, stating the return to the 1-piece solid mahogany body from the illusive 70's pancake bodies, with a maple top. Te body shows multipe Custom binding and a tummy cut on the back. The Gibson tarback VII Humbuckers sound great and you can coil split them to single coils with the original switch. Cool dark black ebony fretboard with real Mother of pearl inlays, messing nut and Grover tuners.
 
All original hardware, electronics, '80 pots, case etc. The TP-6 tailpiece can easily be exchanged for any other tailpiece that is preferred. The beautiful and rare Silverburst finish is original as well and the guitar shows several dings and wear on the back and neck from playing and hanging on a wall hanger.
