SOLD! - 1974 Gibson 20th Anniversary Les Paul Custom Alpine White

Back for sale from our Old Private Collection is this  über cool 4.6Kg all original 20th Anniversary 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom with more mojo then you can shake a stick at....

It has this amazing PUNK ROCK vibe with the Ace Frehley sticker on top, just like Chris Shiflett from the Foo Fighters has on his 74 Les Paul Custom. Reminds us as well of Randy Rhoads, Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Justin Hawkins of the Darkness and even Lindsay Buckingham played one!

This beast is in stunning heavy worn and played condition with the original Alpine White finish faded to an über cool fat and glossy pissoir yellow. It still has the original patent number stamped Humbuckers, pots, electronics, ABR-1 bridge, long seam tailpiece, plastics, knobs, tuners etc. and it comes in the original Gibson Les Paul hardshell case with purple plush lining. The original frets are worn and low but they still play super smooth and easy without missing a note. I used it live as is several times.

The guitar has a lot of playwear all over (...) and several dings, dongs, marks, checking etc. etc. The neck has a repaired headcrack and the headstock and back of the neck were refinished in a matching fat and glossy dirty piss-yellow Alpine White. And boy does it sound the way it looks! Aggressive, fat, articulate and gritty with lots of harmonic overtones. This beast really roars!!!

There's an instant set of tones that comes to mind when considering a Les Paul Custom, and this half a century old example truly delivers on the promise of one of Gibson's most lauded creations with an articulate, harmonic rich sound. This guitar can shift from searing, snappy treble in the bridge position to a balanced, clear, and rich neck pickup. The basis for these lovely tones is the big solid mahogany body, carved maple top and the original Gibson patent number stamped Humbucking pickups. It delivers sweet top end, midrange detail, and great clarity.

It is all you need to become an instant rock star. And a bit of talent maybe... ;-)
