SOLD! - 1971 Gibson SG Standard Walnut w/ Maestro Lyre Vibrola Tremolo

€5.000,00Prijs

Here's an all original batwing axe, just like the '71 SG Angus Young became so famous for!!

We have purchased this from the previous owner Koos, who bought it in 1971/1972 in The Hague at music shop "Servaas". He owned and played this guitar all his life, only to pass it on today to make a new owner as happy as he was with it nearly 55 years ago.

The guitar is a 100% original 1971 Gibson SG Standard with late 60's appointments, no cracks, breaks or repairs, weighing only 3.27Kg.

It has a 3-piece neck with a stepped long heel neck joint and a 40,2mm nut width, Gibson logo with closed b and o and dot on the i, beautiful RW fretboard with pearl trapeze inlays in good condition and some wear on the first couple of fret positions, the fretboard has been professionally refretted and feels very smooth. On the back of the headstock is the original shop sticker from the legendary "Muziekhandel Servaas, a legendary music shop in Den Haag, The Netherlands in the 60's and 70's with it's quirky owner Nico Servaas.

The guitar retains it's original walnut finish which has faded to a lovely brown and shows weather checking, craquelé and wear as it should be with a 55 year old guitar. All shows perfectly under UV blacklight and there are no oversprays or refinishes.

It has the original large "batwing" pickguard, 2 x original patent number sticker humbucker pickups with original covers, original POT's (1377107, week 7 1971), jack, capacitors and wiring with untouched solder, Gibson Pat No 2.740.313 ABR-1 bridge with DJ in circle mark, Gibson Maestro Lyre Vibrola Tremolo, Kluson Deluxe double line double ring tuners, trussrodcover, knobs, screws etc. etc.

Comes in an original late 60's early 70's rectangular case with yellow plush lining
