SOLD! - 1972 vintage Gibson Les Paul Deluxe GoldTop

€ 7.000,00Prijs

This Goldie was made at the Kalamazoo or Nashville Plant, USA approximately in 1970, 1971 or 1972 and owned by the same player in The Netherlands for the past 40 years.

She weighs only 4.2Kgs, which is pretty "lightweight" for a 70's Gibson les Paul and has an amazing warm and lush Goldtop finish in very nice condition. No overspray, no refin, no repairs, no cracks or breaks!

Mahogany 3-piece pancake body with a carved maple top, three piece mahogany neck with a small volute and short tenon, unopened Gibson Patent Number Sticker Mini PAF Humbuckers, original pots (1972) and electronics with untouched solder, Black Beauty Sprague capacitors, switchcraft switch, reflector knobs, pickguard, Deluxe trussrod cover, Kluson Deluxe double line double ring tuners, lightweight stoptail etc. The bridge is a German made bridge but if you look closely you can see the matching patina so it probably has been on there right from the get-go as the usual upgrade to the standard 70's Gibson ABR bridges.

This guitar has a massive Les Paul Sound: these mini humbuckers can sound very warm and open!! It has minor wear on the top with some checking and oxidation and a large patch of belt buckle rash on the back of the body. The neck has some heavy wear on the back and treble-side but nothing too bad. The action will go as low as you want with no buzz! It still has the original fretless wonder frets in worn but playable condition (75%) and the rosewood fretboard is in really good condition!

This 50+ year old beauty comes in the original late 60's early 70's Gibson Les Paul case with purple plush interior, all hinges in tact, handle repaired but original.
