Absolutely stunning 3.4Kg hippie era '69-'70 Fender Stratocaster in Olympic White that has aged, checked and yellowed in a beautiful vintage yellow. You can see it was loved but played and the Hendrix vibe and bell tone on this thing is unreal!
It has had a professional refret with medium jumbo frets which suit the medium C neck profile perfectly. There are no cracks, breaks, repairs, refinishes, mods whatsoever. The original grey bottom staggered polepiece pickups are powerfull and open sounding and measure a lovely N: 5.4k M: 5.5k B: 5.6k Ohm. Not too hot so you get all the 60's bell tone without too much push, just like Hendrix..
The neck has hardly any wear on the back, fretboard and headstock and it plays smooth and easy up and down the neck. Date stamp 22APR69B so it's from April 1969. There is 1 string tree as it should be, with a crisp Fender Stratocaster logo and 2 Patent Numbers on the headstock. The body has no extra routes and is untouched with a lovely patina front and back. The finish shows some real wear and blemishes and at some places the Olympic White finish has cracked.
The pickups are mounted on a white pickguard with perloid back, which is typical for 1969, there are no stamps on the pickups but the paper masking tape still holds the original wire together. The original 3-way switch, pots (137 7014 = week 14 1970) and capacitor are all untouched and the solder is untouched as well. Saddles, bridge, tremolo, backplates, F-tuners, strap locks etc are all original to this guitar!
Comes in the original Fender Rectangular Hardshell Case with orange plush lining.
The original (!!) early 70's "Hendrix" strap can be purchased separately!
