100% original vintage late 1968 Gibson ES-335 ES335 TD 12 string with the original Hardshell case with gold/yellow plush lining.

With the ES-335 TDC 12 Gibson took that legendary design and added a beautiful 12 string sparkle. In terms of tone and feel, this is a truly exceptional guitar. The maple semi-hollow body gives you that sweet almost acoustic quality. The woods have aged beautifully, blessing us with a naturally resonant instrument. Tom Wheeler's book "American Guitars" states that between 1965 and 1970 Gibson made 892 Cherry Red 12-string 335's. Its a rare bird as you can tell.

This guitar has a superb low action and is in very good shape: it is all original and no issues or repairs other then a coloration of the Cherry finish on the bottom of the body, most likely caused by water damage. There is no structural damage though, the wood is in great shape and it has no cracks or splits. It's only the Cherry that has faded and the finish checked. Solder joints are original at all connections. All pots, electronics, pickups, hardware and finish is all original as it came from the Gibson factory in 1968!

The 2 PAT NO. Sticker humbuckers give you that beautiful vintage sparkly open tone. The bridge position is perfect for acoustic-like cleans and, of course, exceptional crunch. this baby can rock!! The neck pickup brings those warm cleans and liquid sustain we have come to expect from a vintage Gibson. It is fat but vibrant and both pickups are perfectly strong and matched. Wonderful sound and great harmonics. The long tenon mahogany neck balances the maple body and adds great tone transfer.

This ES335 sounds absolutely beautiful as a 12 string, but could also easily be played as a six string: just put on 6 strings for normal 6 string operation or change the nut for a 6-string bone nut and you're set.
