SOLD! - 1960 Gibson Les Paul Junior Cherry DC Double Cut

€ 7.500,00Prijs

The Les Paul Junior is a very versatile instrument that has it all: When played at maximum volume levels it is loud and aggressive and a mean, pure rock machine. When played at low volume levels with the tone rolled down it sounds sweet as a baby's buttocks.

This example is a very nice 3.1KG vibrant instrument that has a massive tone - very resonant and clear when played unplugged. It is all original with no breaks, cracks or repairs.

The neck is very comfortable to play and has a soft feeling early 60's "D" profile and a lovely Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. The solid mahogany body and neck show some lovely aging, the finish has faded and yellowed over time to a satin brown. The original cherry red is visible underneath the pickguard. The finish has many small dings and blemishes particularly along the sides of the bass and treble bouts, and the back has moderate buckle rash. The finish on the back of the neck has worn, and has small dings throughout. The headstock face has moderate wear as well. The neck has been partially refretted, and the 3rd fret dot has been replaced.

It has the original electronics with 1960 pots, a "Black Beauty Sprague" capacitor and a super nice original P90 "dog-ear" pickup with a sweet 6.7K output which is not as aggressive as usual on these Juniors! The tuners are the original Kluson strip tuners and the D tuner shaft is bent but functional. Knobs, plastics, strap buttons, truss rod cover etc all original. Later Gibson Les Paul Cali Girl Custom Shop case.

The Gibson Les Paul Junior is the favorite choice of many great guitarists including Keith Richards, Leslie West, Mick Jones, Rich Robinson, Billie Joe Armstrong, Keith Urban, Phil X, etc et
