SOLD! - 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior DC Cherry w/ alligator croc case
The Les Paul Junior is a very versatile instrument that has it all: When played at maximum volume levels it is loud and aggressive and a mean, pure rock machine. When played at low volume levels with the tone rolled down it sounds sweet as a baby's buttocks.
This example is a very nice 3.09KG vibrant instrument that has a big and warm tone - very resonant and clear when played unplugged. It is all original with no breaks, cracks or repairs and the finish is still as cherry as it was 65 years ago!!
The neck is very comfortable to play and has a soft feeling full '59 profile and a lovely dark fingerboard. The solid mahogany body and neck show little aging, the finish has not faded as much as most and it is still a vibrant cherry red with lots of beautiful thin weather checking. The finish has a couple small dings and blemishes but it still is in great condition after all these years. The only thing worth mentioning is that on the back of the headstock close to the neck there's a little sticker residue from the shop that sold the guitar originally. I'm sure it will buff out easily but I leave that up to the next owner
It has the original electronics with 1959 week 24 POTs with untouched solder, "Bumblebee" capacitor and a super nice original P90 "dog-ear" pickup with a big warm output. The tuners are the original Kluson strip tuners and the knobs, plastics, strap buttons, trussrod cover, pickguard, jack output and studs and wraptail bridge etc are all original as well.
And yes, it even comes in the original Gibson alligator croc case with the handle and latches in tact!
The Gibson Les Paul Junior is the favorite choice of many great guitarists including Keith Richards, Leslie West, Mick Jones, Rich Robinson, Billie Joe Armstrong, Keith Urban, Phil X, etc etc.
