1959 Fender Tweed Champ 5F1

1959 Fender Tweed Champ 5F1

€3,250.00Price

The Fender Champ Amplifier has been one of the greatest recording amps of all time!

It has been a favorite for studios and artists for over 70 years! Why does everyone love the Fender Champ? Because they sound amazing! Their low wattage tubes provide a clean tone at low volumes and you can get that overdriven tube crunch when you turn up the volume. Since these amps are low wattage, you get get that fender tube crunch without blowing out the windows.

This one has the original 1959 dry wood cabinet, tweed, leather handle, chassis, potmeter, death cap (disconnected), ASTRON capacitors, resistors, pilot light, knobs, wiring, board, fuse holder, jack inputs, 2-prong power cord, "106" Output Transformer and Schumacher "OP250B Power Transformer dated 606935 (week 35, 1959). It even has the original builder masking tape but the name on there is no longer visible.

The baffle board is restored as at some point a 10inch speaker was installed which left some cracks in the plywood. Current speaker is a replacement Weber 8SigA-4 which is the perfect sounding Alnico speaker for this amp! Both backpanels are restored as well, someone in the past marked some parts for cutout (God knows why) but luckily they weren't molested any further.

If so desired we can offer a full service of the amp in which the ASTRON capacitors are replaced by top quality caps and the power cord is replaced by a grounded cord. Costs are about Euro 100,-
