SOLD! - 1953 Fender 5B3 Tweed Deluxe Wide Panel

A good Tele sounds like a Million Dollars through this beauty...

The Deluxe is one of Fender's most iconic amps. Deluxes of all varieties can be heard on countless records and so many famous players have turned to Deluxe for their rich yet volume friendly sound.

The early years of the Deluxe models were really good years. The main characteristic of these amps is great overdrive and compression. They can have really nice cleans too but most players get them for their dynamic and harmonically rich, fat overdrive.

The 5A3 is basically the same as the 5B3 except for the cabinet: 5A3 is a TV model, 5B3 the wide panel. This transition Tweed Deluxe has the 5A3 label but it is in fact a 5B3 in the Wide Panel cabinet.

Model 5C3 then has a separate On/Off toggle switch, external speaker jack under the chassis, glass tubes, and a negative feedback loop. Model 5D3 is the same as 5C3 but without the negative feedback loop and 12AY7 / 12AX7 preamp and phase inverter tubes instead of the 6SC7 octal tubes.

This little beast has the sweetest vintage Fender Tweed octal tube tone there is! Crystal clear cleans with rings and bells, super nice breakup at halfway the volume into a roaring Neil Young beast of a tone!! It's fat, crunchy, and just plain cool...

It has been checked and it is very original down to a couple of Astron capacitors. It has the original  TRIAD 6452 transformer, Output Transformer mounted to the Jensen P12R Alnico Bell speaker, chassis, cabinet, baffle, knobs etc. are all original. Replaced are the handle, grillcloth, chassis screws, the instrument volume pot and a few capacitors to keep it safe. The tweed has seen better days but rather then retweed it (and put new glue ets all over the nice dry woody sounding cab) we prefer to keep it original. The P12R has the original cone with a few repairs but it works perfect and sounds amazing like only an old Jensen Alnico can. For ease of use a 110/230Volt transformer is installed and put on the bottom of the cabinet.

This baby is READY TO ROCK!!
