SOLD! - 1953-1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop conversion refin

€ 20.000,00Prijs

A real treasure! This 3.8Kg Les Paul started life as a 1953 Goldtop and was converted to a 1957 spec Les Paul with what are most likely real PAF pickups (pics available but the guitar is already priced as if they are non original PAF's). This is one super playing guitar that is ready to rock your socks off!

The body was converted from an original 1953 trapeze tailpiece to period correct Gibson Stop Bar tailpiece and recent high end ABM ABR-1 Bridge assembly. The body was routed, plugged, and re-drilled for the new bridge and saddle. The pickup cavities have been converted for PAF's. The back and sides of the body, neck and headstock have the original 1953 finish, the top is refinished and aged by none other then Angelo van Merrienboer from Panucci!!

The neck has e super comfortable 59 feel with a hint of a "V" shape in there. A neck reset was performed for the perfect neck angle. On the back of the headstock there is an impressively performed headstock repair which is pretty damn hard to see. Luckily it was only a small "smiley" so not a full on crack or break! The current refret shows mild wear but there's plenty of life left in them. The braz rosewood fretboard and inlays are in great shape, as is the binding.

The tone in very woody and open, the neck pickup sounds full and warm with lots of power, the bridge pickup sounds thinner and is perfect for those crunchy rock riffs and leads!
